Romania -The Struggle of a Nation Towards Its Freedom
The Romanian nation, formed as a result of the latinisation of the ancient Dacian people, after the latin conquest, has always inhabited the territories on the Northern side of the Danube , surrounding the Carpatian Mountains . Being located at the crossroads of some of the greatest civilisations and empires in history, its development throughout the course of history was far from easy. Despite being torn apart and constantly deprived of the opportunity to build up a unified state and an identity, the nation did not forget its origins and never gave up the fight for affirmation and recognition. Its path was rough and sinuous, however, in the end, all the efforts were not in vain. Today our country finally heads towards democracy and the prosperity it has so long yearned for.
